"EL DILUVIO"

All hail El Nino with a whopper of a "diluvio."

We got 2.70 inches yesterday and 1.88 inches today. To put this all in perspective, in 2014 we received 1.92 inches of precipitation for the entire month of January, 2015 we received 0.26.

Now, you know the rest of the story.

Last night while driving northbound to home, there was a black line of low clouds and a curtain of rain pounding on the bluffs near Highway 145.

We thought a tornado was about to touch down.

As we got past Avenue 15, we noticed the bluffs just north of Fresno had water cascading down the ravines and across Highway 41 in three places.

The flash flood had to be at least 3 inches. We never had seen that before since moving here in 2007.

We get home and our garden in the ravine was flooded...again. I need to take advantage of that. Building a dam would only weaken the driveway resulting in some major problems driving to work. Then I am thinking, why not build a dam further "upstream" and use the silt and debris for our garden.
