DEWEY POINT

Filled in another white space on the calendar with a snowshoe hike from Badger Pass Ski Area to Dewey Point. What snow, what beauty, what a workout.

We start off hitting #14, the hardest of the snowshoe trail, to Dewey Point and finish up with #18 to Summit Meadow.

An eight-mile hike that took us just short of 4 hours to complete.

Starting at the "Black Diamond." Note the sign.

Taking a breather.

Moss.

Unbelievable.

Half Dome.

Half Dome "peaking" above the treeline way in the background.

WILSON!

Conehead.

Where is my wife?

Yosemite Falls.

Beauty to behold.

In awe.

Having fun.

Dinosaur Head Rock.

El Capitan.

Option 2.

My wife decides to climb to the tree with camera, trekking poles, and snowshoes. I advised her to be extremely careful. When she reached the top, she felt her heart in her throat and decided to turn around. She was having difficulty descending due to her snowshoes. She glissades WITH HER SNOWSHOES ON landing just to the right of the exposed rock to the left of the picture. To the right? She is lucky she didn't fall off. My heart skipped when she glissaded. She was okay.

Snow everywhere.

The valley.

More valley.

Panning.

Wherever I may roam...
