KNEE DEEP

Thanks to Zac Brown Band, here is my take on "Knee Deep."

Gonna put the world away for a minute
Pretend I don't live in it
Sunshine gonna wash my blues away
I have found my soulmate love and never lost it
She's really close and I never fought it
Now we're livin' in the world tryin to find us a better way

Wishin' we were
Knee deep in Lone Pine Creek somewhere
Got the blue sky, breeze and it don't seem fair
The only worry in the world
Is are we going to spot a big black bear
Sunrise, there's a fire in the sky
Never been so happy
Never felt so high
And we think we might've found us our own kind of paradise

Wrote a note, said "Be back in a minute"
Bought a Casita trailer and we took off with it
Don't think anybody's gonna miss us anyway
Our minds are on a permanent vacation
The mountains are our only medication
Wishin' our condition ain't ever gonna go away

Now we're knee deep in Lone Pine Creek somewhere
Got the blue sky breeze blowin' wind thru our hair
Only worry in the world
Is are we gonna see a big black bear
Sunrise, there's a fire in the sky
Never been so happy
Never felt so high
And we think we might've found us our own kind of paradise

This alpenglow watchin' over her and me
It's a sweet sweet life livin' near Mt. Whitney
One day you can be as lost as her and me
Change your geography and maybe you might be

Knee deep in Lone Pine Creek somewhere
Got the blue sky breeze blowin' wind thru your hair
Only worry in the world
Is are you gonna see a big black bear
Sunrise, there's a fire in the sky
Never been so happy
Never felt so high
And you think you might've found your own kind of paradise

Come on in
The waters nice
Find yourself a little slice
Grab a backpack
Otherwise you'll never know until you try
When you lose yourself
You find a key to paradise

ALL ABOARD NO MORE

Took my last train ride from Richmond to Fresno.

26 roundtrips. 4,492 miles in all. Approximately 97 hours and 56 minutes of travel. $651.00 in total fare.

Amtrak has this special if you buy 10 trips it costs $198.00. You have to use it in 45 days. Not one trip was wasted.

My wife begins her new assignment on July 5, 2011 in Fresno. It will be carpooling time again!

Thank you, Amtrak!
